While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I assumed it was (the time you enter) + (the GMT offset) = GMT

I don't remember the explanation someone gave here but I know there was a good reason. Even though you have to subtract four hours from GMT to get the correct local EDST, you enter it in the Meade keypad as +4.
