While you're here, how about checking out the

Hi All,

I have been worried about my GOTO accuracy for some time now. I bought my
LX200 (10", F/10) a few months ago, and even though i accurately polar
aligned it, and did good two star alignments, it would never point to an
object within the standard field of view of the supplied 26mm eyepiece. I
was worried.
Late one night a few weeks ago, the neighbours dog was out and barking alot.
I decided to change the slew speed to 4 to make it quieter for the dog (and
me). I aligned again, just to see what would happen (if anything). Then to
M51. Bang, centre of field. OK, maybe just a fluke. Lets have a longer slew,
M57. Dead centre again. My pointing accuracy is now good enough that i can
place objects from long slews >90 degrees on the chip of my ST7 99% of the
time. I have not yet come to an object that was missed entirely. OK so it is
not the centre of the chip, but still on it. This is without high precision
(which i don't see the point of anyway) and i generally only do i quick
'synch' on a star at startup.....
Cheers
