While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Darrell:
I wouldn't take the corrector off, they are aligned with cork shims and
the corrector is oriented with respect to the Primary. Just a hair shift
will make a difference, I found this out by taking the corrector of my C-11
off to flock the tube. Finally got it aligned back right.

I've had small chips in my tube also, and what I did was remove one screw
(finder, corrector) on the tube which was inline with the chip, take a
wire/thin coat hanger and put some double sticky tape on the end, pass
through the screw hole and pick up the chip. Just be careful, worked well
for me. Good luck

Ralph
