Bob,
I'm not sure what the recommended limit is, but I use a 25' cable I made =
up per the instructions in the MAPUG archives without any problems.

Subject: [M]: cable length
Hi all...I am hooking up my laptop to my lx200. I have a serial port =
on the=20
laptop and wondered how much length would be appropriate for the cable =
that=20
runs from the laptop to the scope. Someone has told me to keep it =
short...say=20
2 or 3 feet. Is this true. That would be pretty restrictive in terms =
of=20
length......any suggestions.=20
Thanks much.=20
