Yes Jon, the scope is new / unmodified. Purchased new from OPT on June 1
this year (5 days ago). It is a 10" f10.
Also, from the verbiage on the Dec bearing mod page there may have been a
change to the way the Dec dial is connected to the shaft, I will have to
read it again and compare it to what I see on my scope.
I would gladly post a picture if I knew were to post it to, obviously the
list is not a good place to post binaries. Is there a sight to upload to?
I suppose I could post it to the LX-200 group on Yahoo. I already have the
pictures taken (digital) as I am documenting the many QC problems I have
encountered thus far. How can such a well designed device be produced so
shoddily? I still think the LX-200 is the king in its price range, but it
could be so much better with just a little quality control. If I showed
this kind of lack of attention to detail there would be a lot of dead Navy
aviators and scattered aircraft wreckage around the hot spots of the world.
Not to mention the whole pride issue, people actually signed the QC sticker
on my scope, I would not have.
