I went through this with "MIKE" at OPT when the eyepiece offer first came
out. He refused to allow full retail credit on the eyepieces. I told him
that I spoke to Astronomics and that they were offering full retail. MIKE
also told me I must be mistaken and misunderstood what Mike at Astronomics
told me. In the end he did back off and give the same offer that Astronomics
did.
I don't know what it is with this guy. It's like HE thinks everyone is
lying to him or something. I felt like I was being called a lier. I actually
called Astronomics back and THEN called OPT back just to let MIKE know that
he was wrong, not I. Would have been nice if I could have conferenced
everybody together and just let them (the two Mikes) argue it out (reminds
me of the movie "The Two Jakes").
Someone else on the list stated that OPT had also agreed to do the credit
for any item in the store. Have they changed their mind again?

I just ordered some stuff from OPT in Ca. Having just bought a new LX200 I
am entitled to the EP deal from Meade. I asked OPT about using the EP's
for credit against non-Meade products. Mike ??, a manager, said no way. I
said I heard some other retailers were giving credit against non Meade
products. He said you must be mistaken. Later he called me and said he
talked to Astronomics who agreed with his position and said credit would
only be given against Meade products. Actually this is not a surprise. If
I were them I wouldnt give open ended credit either.
