While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Hello;

I am looking to get a CCD camera for my 10" LX-200 within the year. I have
been looking at either the Meade 1616XTE with 616 color filter or the SBIG
8E with the CFW8 Color Filter. I live in Newmarket, Ontario Canada. The
temperature gets relatively cold in the evenings and very cold in the winter
(if this makes any difference).

Can anyone provide me with some advice on the pros and cons of each CCD? I
am interested in getting the best match for my scope. Of importance is ease
of use (focusing, centering, guiding, etc), quality of the images and
quality of the color. Hearing your experiences would be appreciated.

As well, assuming that cost was not a factor, what would the advantages be
to getting the SBIG 10E instead of the 8E (or the 1616XTE)? Are there any
drawbacks to the 10E that you know of?

I really appreciate the assistance on these questions.

Dan.
