Ed--
These "homebrews" are indeed impressive, especially your "sled", but some of
us have neither the time, tools or skills for such impressive woodworking. I
suppose one could homebrew eyepieces as well but I prefer Naglers :-). For
me, spending $150 on a commercial accessory that makes my $5,000 plus
investment in an LX-200 scope, camera gear and eyepieces more enjoyable, is
worth it. To each his own, I guess. I've probably spread myself a little
thin--I also have an 18" dob to maintain and a roll-off roof observatory in
the boonies 100 miles away that also compete for my time in this hobby.
Alas, I also have a number of other time and money-consuming hobbies where I
also have to rely on commercial equipment--so many hobbies, so little time!
:-)
