While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

New owner here. WARNING! POTENTIALLY STUPID QUESTION!!

Is it possible to point the scope at a star and have it track without
going through the alignment procedure? I've looked the manual over
reasonably well and haven't come across a means for doing so.

I'd like to say that I'm quite impressed with the information found
on MAPUG on this, my inaugural visit. Thanks in advance to all of
you who will undoubtedly contribute a great deal to my enjoyment of
both astronomy and my new LX200!
