While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
Greetings:
After a multi-hour session Saturday night (two clear nights
in a row, what have I done to deserve it?), the dec motor
went haywire when I was using "goto" to move to a new
variable star.
I tried reversing the cord, but the problem happened again
during the next "go to".
I shut off the LX200, realigned (no problems with the motor
when I was doing this), then tried a "go to" to Mars. Nope,
runaway dec!
When I aimed at the Mars by slewing myself, and tracked, I
tried moving in declination--did not seem to both the
motor. Ditto on the moon, I "panned and scanned" up and
down, no problem with the motor. So it appears to be a
sporadic problem, related to the goto function?
Any suggestions (I'll be searching the archives, but if
anybody has a concise suggestion, I'd appreciate hearing
from you!).
Thanks!
Fred Kiesche
