While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Hello,

When I unlock the dec axis on my newish, 6mo old, 8" LX200,
I would expect it to move freely. But is is very stiff and
I have to move it up and down several times to get it loose
enough to where it will move freely, and for example, fall
through the forks it I let go of the OTA. Is this normal
and if not is there a fix?
