Sounds silly but check and see if the forks are rubbing on the dec cable. On
occasion I would have a serious squeaky thumping noise. Come to find out it
was the cable that ran from the control panel to the dec motor. When the
fork would turn to a certain degree it would go over the cable rather close.
The rubbing of the cable against the bottom of the fork would cause a
serious squeak then it would thump as the cable cleared the fork.
