Sounds reasonable. But then maybe we should all use Huygenians or
singlets. Or better yet no lens at all. And that primary mirror can
have flaws, too. Better observe naked eye. Without glasses or
contacts. But then one's corneas aren't the greatest optics, better
ditch them, too.....
:-)

My experience is that it's not so much lens design as careful execution
that makes the most difference. Zeiss Abbe Orthos are great not because
of their simple design but because they're well polished and have
excellent coatings.

But a clean Nagler is better than a dirty Zeiss Ortho :-)
