Norm,

as mentioned in the other e-mails - I would also suggest the Baader foil !

I've build my own solar filter with it and it works great. I have 10" and the
filters aperture is 8" - works just fine!

Over here in Germany we have two types -

1.) for visual observing
2.) photographical

I don't know if they sell both types in the US. The diference between them is,
that the photographic foil is a little brighter than the visual one.
