While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Flag, your post on the Aluminum cases and counterbalance construction sent
me to Lowes today and I came up dry.

I couldn't find the cases, but I was most interested in the counterbalance.
You reported getting a "...nice polished aluminum channel which looks sort
of like a 1/2 inch square tube with a 1/8 inch slot cut all the way along
one side..." I could not find anything of the sort. What department? What
would be its main purpose in life? Helpers could only locate square tubing
with no slots or U channel.

Also, about that "...stock piece of round brass (3" dia. x 1" thick". Where
did you find that?

Thanks,

Tom
