Thanks for the offer of the case. I bought one at Lowes a year or so ago.
These things come and go. Sometimes you can get them with pick foam and
sometimes not. Anyway, thanks for the kind offer, but I'll pass.
As to the counterbalance assembly. I did not look in that section, but in
thinking about it, curtain rods seem like a very good idea. I'll go back
tomorrow afternoon. As to the counterweight, I filled a dog food can with
plaster-of-Paris for a counterweight on an old GEM, so maybe I'll resurrect
the "technology" with a tuna can for the LX200. I guess I can add a
threaded insert before it sets up, then screw it on the captured bolt. I
let you know if it works. Seems like there ought to be a better solution
than spending a hundred bucks.
