While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I have come to the conclusion that the level on MY Superwedge is not
correct. Yours may also be in error. I would trust the drift and not the
level.

Subject: [M]: To level or not to level...that is the question

Hi everyone,

Just mounted my new LX200-10"scope in the observatory on the pier I have
had for a few years. This new scope replaced the LX200 8" I was using. My
old 8"scope sat on a regular Meade wedge, the 10" sits on a Meade super
wedge. The super wedge has a level on it which reports I am off level. I
can see Polaris fine "off" level. When I move the pier to show it is level
by the super wedge it throws Polaris off.

I am doing CCD astrophotography. With my 8" scope I could get 2-3 mins
unguided before I would see any signs of drift on the "un-level" pier. If I
level the pier for the bubble on the super wedge will I improve my drift?
What will it improve?
