While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book

Greetings, Oh Wise Ones:
Anybody out there use the "wheeley bars" from JMI with
their CAT?
The website describes it being useable on paved ground
(driveways) or "hard surface". How hard is hard?
My situation is that my LX200 sits in my garage, facing the
street. I rarely observe from my driveway, due to
streetlights, auto headlights and the like. So I generally
carry the scope into the back (I hold it by the ScopeSaver,
leave it on the tripod). It isn't a long walk to the back,
but I'd rather wheel than carry!
Is pretty hard-packed earth (except when it rains for
several days, of course) a hard enough surface to wheel on?
Especially if I go with the larger wheels?
Thanks!
Fred Kiesche
