While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Fred-- I used wheely bars with my SCT 12 before I permanently mounted it. I
found pulling the scope along an asphalt driveway workable altho the
vibrations that set off always worried me. It certainly was easier than
carrying it, but I think whether you are moving it on driveway or hard packed
earth, another person to cushion the vibrations as you move it would be best
for the health of your scope. I think hard packed earth would be do-able, but
I would worry about possible jarring unless you have assistance. Lisa

<< Is pretty hard-packed earth (except when it rains for
several days, of course) a hard enough surface to wheel on?
Especially if I go with the larger wheels? >>
