While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?


This is a replacement of the electronics, generally not a repair. You
may get your electronics back, but you may get repaired electronics
back. Failures are generally similar on all returns for repair. I
would assume that they repair and check boards. The generic charge
covers the average costs. Some boards might be repaired for $2 other
are all but junk. It averages out. Think of the $500 as paying
insurance only if you make a claim. Not bad insurance, on the
average.

And after this post, I leave on vacation. I will not be answering
posts until after August 1, 2001
