Yes. I kind of figured that C41 might be a different animal after posting.
I have no experience with it, so I cannot comment. Do E6 and scan it. Then
you can send it off to get printed on one of the on-line digital photo
printers after you have everything just the way you want it.

The key phrase above is "scan it." I'd say do C41 color negatives and scan
it, but either is a fine attempt which can work well.
Monochrome or tricolor use of b&w negative film is quite tempting to me,
although if CCDs keep improving it may become an extremely narrow niche in a
few more years.
