While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Hi Arvel,

Yes you need to use a USB to serial port converter. I have a Keyspan unit
which gives me two Apple serial ports. You will also need to purchase or
build yourself a cable that connects your USB to serial converter's serial
port to your LX200's serial port. With the Keyspan converter this means a
Din 8 to RJ11 cable (there are other brands of converter as well with DB9 or
DB25 connectors instead of the Din 8 connector). I have just built and
tested a cable for myself.

The information on building a cable is on Bill Arnett's web site at
"http://www.seds.org/billa/meade/cable.html". It is very easy to understand
-> thanks Bill.

All the best,

David Samuel
