While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Aaron--

I use an ST-7E with a 10" LX200 f/10. Nine months ago, I was at the same
point you are, and (I realize this is a Meade site) I have never regretted
getting the SBIG. CCD imaging is a very demanding hobby, requiring the
mastering of a huge number of variables. The self-guiding aspect of the
SBIG cameras removes the significant complication of off-axis guiding.
There is a more software written for the SBIG. Nobody ever complains about
not being able to get an ST-7E to work, as opposed to the legions of people
who have thrown their 416 into the moat. SBIG product support is wonderful
when something does go wrong. I strongly suspect that SBIG, whose only
business is selling CCD cameras and accessories, will continue to improve
and support this line, while I wonder if Meade is as committed to CCD
cameras.

My $.02.
