Everybody, myself included, has criticized Meade for mechanical, optical
and electrical
quality control problems. I own two Meade telescopes, a 10" f/10 LX200
and a
recently acquired ETX-60AT. Both scopes worked perfectly. I am
especially impressed
with the ETX-60's performance. For $98.00 it worked perfectly right out
of the box.
What impresses me the most about the ETX-60 is it's optical quality, no
significant color fringing
on the Moon. My $280.00 60 mm f/9 Japanese guide scope exhibits severe
color fringing
on the Moon. Congratulations Meade, you make fine consumer products at
affordable
prices.
