The teflon makes mine completely useable. Not fantastic, but useable.
Sure, there is backlash, but it is predictable. The popping that Gene is
talking about comes from poor contact between mount and base of wedge which
is fixed by teflon.

This is a backlash problem associated with the way the adjuster has been
constructed. The teflon will only make the moving smoother, but the back
and forth problem has to do with the azimuth adjuster. There is a "fix kit"
available, I believe at:
