While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
As Howard Cosell used to say, "Hello again, everyone!"
I've returned from the eclipse in Africa, which was a great one.
Sorry I didn't publicly announce my departure on the list, but I figured that
might make it open season for flamers to run rampant during my absence. So I
just quietly disappeared and hoped for the best. I'm happy to see that the
list is at least still running on autopilot.
Obviously I'll be busily catching up on list maintenance, including at least
the following:
1. Unsubscribing everyone whose requests went to the list or to me privately.
2. Seeing if the "virus" thread requires any action on my part (unlikely)
3. Doing routine maintenance to keep (or get?) things running smoothly
without double-posts, delays, etc. If things bogged down at all during the
second half of June, now you know why.
4. Reading all the posts themselves to see who was naughty or nice ;-)
5. Approving a backlog of "Proud User" requests for mapug.com
6. Getting ready to make my first batch of 12" LX200 solar filters next
weekend (last call for anyone who hasn't expressed interest yet: email me
privately!)
Also, my apologies to anyone who sent me private emails in the last few weeks
regarding LX200 cases, Baader filters, eyepiece filters, and so forth. I'm
busy catching up with a mountain of email... not to mention more mundane
things like paying all the bills which came in while I was away.
At some point, I hope to get my eclipse photos developed also!
