While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
I've recently got myself a Milburn Deluxe Wedge (high latitude)
http://home1.gte.net/kmilburn/page12.html for use with a Mead LX200 8".
My immediate problem is to figure out how to attach the wedge to a permanent
pier.
My plan is to make the pipe/pier head about 8" in diameter, 1/4" wall
thickness and then cap it with a 1/2" thick head. But I will need to
drill/tap a hole pattern in the top to accept the Milburn wedge. Has anyone
got a template in say AutoCAD I could use?
I plan to contract the work out, so they'll need clear instructions. The
plan was to get the 8" diameter cap, have it drilled and tapped, then welded
to the pipe, then powder coated in black, then I will mount said pier in
tonnes of concrete! But I need to know exactly where the holes should be
drilled and tapped in the 8" cap. I was hoping someone out there has
already got a template or could otherwise help?
