While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I don't own and didn't setup the Coronado filter that I observed through last summer but was extremely impressed with what I saw. Another club member had the filter and scope it was mounted on but the image was breath taking. I have looked through other H-Alpha filters and was only somewhat impressed but this was something else. It may have only been the amount of solar activity that weekend as compared with the viewing other times but if I were to buy a filter now it most certainly would be the Coronado.

Cliff

I was wondering if anyone in the group has any experience with their LX200 using a H Alpha filter for solar observing. It looks like the two most popular ones are the Coronado and Thousand Oaks Optics. Does anyone have any hands on with either of these companies and any recommendations?

Thanks,
Stephen R. Trella, Jr.
