While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book

What a great job of explaining and documenting. Bruce did a lot of work on
this, and it couldn't have been done better.
What a gem for LX200 owners. I downloaded the whole thing for fear that it
would disappear off of the web.

Subject: [M]: Repairing the LX200 Dec and RA drives
Hi all,
I just finished a first draft of a page that will hopefully help a lot of
people out when it comes to the repair of the infamous 'motor runaway' and
'dead motor' problems on the LX200. It's a bit wordy, but perhaps it can be
of some help to people that don't want to have to send their units in for
the
$200 repair. I hope so. I also hope that it puts a bit of a new twist on
solving the problems.
It can be directly accessed at: <http://members.aol.com/ccdastro/decfix.htm>
Tomorrow I'll put a permanent link to it from my personal page.
Comments and suggestions are welcome.
For what it's worth.
