While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
Bought my 10" last year and while looking for a different problem (metal
chip contamination), discovered that several vertically mounted components
on the main board extended above the lip that supports the bottom plate.
Bent the leads of each of these components down and away from the plate and
added some electrical tape to the inside of the bottom plate for insurance.
Meade should add a plastic insulator to cover the main board, or perhaps
replace that metal bottom plate with a sturdy non-conductive material.
This could save a lot of disappointment and headaches. Glad I caught mine
before any damage occured.
