A very nice piece of work. Being faint of heart, I think I would launch before
attempting any of those fixes. What Meade (with your help) needs to do is train
staff in local telescope shops to perform these fixes.
My only comment would be to make a companion doc to what you have written in the
form of a flow-chart diagnostic diagram.
