If you aren't afraid to dig a bit, this can be a relatively simple =
problem to fix. There are several weak points in the multi-pin =
connectors used for communication between the dec drive and the =
microprocessor. Bruce's page outlines these problem areas and the fixes =
very thoroughly.

Subject: [M]: LX200 Crisis ...Help Please
Hello all
=20
I switched on my LX200 this evening and the declination motor went =
mad. It started rotating instantly I turned the scope on, driving the =
OTA downwards.
=20
I powered off, disconnected the handset, powered back on and it did it =
again.
=20
What the hell has happened? Can you believe that I take delivery of an =
SBIG ST8E in 2 weeks!
=20
Any and all advice/comments welcome
=20
Regards
=20
