You just saved me $200 and weeks of waiting!! I had a runaway RA drive. I
looked at the schematics but couldn't figure it out, and there were no
broken or loose wires, so I called Meade to get a return number. Then I saw
your post. I took out the RA drive and connected batteries following your
directions and found that comparator #2 was at almost zero volts. I
adjusted the pot and - bingo - 1.21 volts. Dirty pot. The scope is working
fine now.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! >>
Ed,
If for no other reason, your experience just made my time in putting it
together, well worth the effort! I am very glad that it helped you, and I
certainly hope that it can do the same for others over time.
It's very, very satisfying to get the feedback that I've gotten about the
writeup, both from within the groups and directly. And I'll do my best to
keep this subject, the other ones I've done, and those that I'll do in the
future, current and worth the effort of reading.
Best to all, and thank all of you for the very nice complements and
suggestions.
