While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I, too, understand the economics of scale, but on the other side of the
coin, the LX200 has been manufactured for, what, 10 years? In that length
of time, the manual that is supplied with the scope could have been slowly
updated AT LEAST to the point where it doesn't contain WRONG information.

Can you picture some real newbie standing outside facing North and,
referring to the Star Chart on page 33 for August, trying to pick out Orion?
Of course pretty much everywhere in the US, 7 to 9 is going to be daylight
in August.
