I have used a "trunk" that I found at my local luggage store. It is exactly
the right width for the original packing material. It has about 4" to spare
in length which holds the power supply, cables, etc. It has wheels on one
end to roll and two handles on each end. Three locks. Best of all it only
cost about $100. Good luck.

Does anyone know were one can purchase a hard case for the LX200 8" scope
without waiting for a custom build? I have checked the list archives and
didn't see anyone that had an off the shelf case. I just purchased a LX200
and am planning to take it on a field trip in the *very* near future and
need a case that can withstand being strapped in the back of a 4WD Pickup.

Any help would be much appreciated as I wouldn't want to hurt this
wonderful new scope.
