While the G-11 would be a great solution if photo work was you only
requirement, I would recommend getting the LX200 with a wedge. The unsung glory
of the LX200 is how well the Alt-Az mode works for casual observing. "Go To" is
great also but not as important as the rock solid stability and ease of use
Alt-Az brings to the equation.
The standard Meade wedge is cheap if you pick one up used ($90) but as they
say, you get what you pay for. I would recommend looking for a good deal on a
Meade Super wedge ($250).
Once you sell the LX50 you should come out way ahead in total cost than pulling
the OTA off the fork mount and trying to find a buyer for the LX50 forks.
