While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Has anyone had the opportunity to do a fairly detailed comparison of TheSky, SkyMap (or SkyMap Pro) and Earth Centered Universe
astronomy programs with one another. Does one have particularly useful features that the others don't?

I have downloaded and tried evaluation copies of SkyMap and ECU and they seem quite good. Although I have used them both for only a
short time, I prefer ECU, but I probably haven't become proficient enough with either to make a good judgement. There is no
evaluation copy available for TheSky, so I wasn't able to try it. Does it provide a lot more for the extra money.

Neither SkyMap nor ECU seems to allow the display to be scrolled. Does TheSky? The web page for TheSky suggests that it allows a
customized horizon; is this true.

Thanks
Bob Zarnke
