While you're here, how about checking out the

I seem to have pretty bad luck with the dec motors for the LX-200.
I spent a considerable amount of time last summer dealing with Meade
to get a new motor under warranty. Mostly they kept sending me
a model that didn't work on my scope. In Sept. I got the right one
and used the motor successfully for about a month. I put the scope
away until December and used it for one week. All was working fine.
I put it into use again about 10 days ago and found the motor sluggish
and erratic. This weekend I put my old motor in its place. The old
one only had a delay problem in GUIDE mode. After operating the
scope with it, it was quite clear my current motor is in some way
fouled up, since the old motor performed quite well except for the
delay.
I have a proposition for you. We communicated on this subject
last summer when I was having the delay problems. It appears
you have overhauled a couple of motors and know the internals
quite well. Rather than have Meade do their thing with the
current motor, I was wondering if you could repair it and
the other motor? I'd be willing to pay for the work or
give you yet another dec motor I have for the LX-200 that
has never been used but does not fit my scope. It has a
mounting flange that is too big (thick). Let me know what
you think.
