Bob--I've got a dolly design (Friends have been referring to it as a "Stewart
Sled.") that I constructed for my LX200 on my web page, see link below or
direct at:
<http://www.austin.cc.tx.us/astro-ES/AstroDesigns/Shelves/Md_Shelf.html>.
Recently added a variation of the design from Don Holcome at:
<http://www.austin.cc.tx.us/astro-ES/AstroDesigns/TrpdSled/Alternate.htm#anchor193298>
It's easy to construct from a couple of feet of 2x4 and some plywood. Since I
have to go over several 6" steps on my back deck, I use a dolly with 10"
pneumatic tires to scale them, while Don's uses small castors to go over a
smooth concrete surface. The best thing though is you keep the scope set-up
and can have most accessories (eyepiece case, battery, atlas, etc.) residing
on the sled so that all you have to do is wheel the unit out and power-up.
Makes short sessions appealing when you probably wouldn't bother otherwise.
If you or any others build one with some innovative variations, I would love
to have pics and a description to add to the design page to spark other ideas.
