While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
In a message dated 98-05-01 10:18:56 EDT, you write:
<< In tring to think of SOME relationship between quantum theory and
Meade's advanced products >>
My sentiments exactly.
Sorry for my lack of speed in shutting down this thread. I've been incredibly
busy at work, and I'm just catching up on my MAPUG "easy reading"
*****************************************************************************
Everyone, take your cosmological debates to private email NOW!!!!
*****************************************************************************
I think we've discussed this as being too far off topic a few times too many,
but I'll repeat my philosophy on OT posts one more time for the benefit of
newcomers:
OT posts are welcome so long as they are quickly taken to private email, AND
cannot be taken as instigating a controversy on the list.
For example, don't post an OT message like "The Big Bang Theory is wrong" and
also don't post a response like "No it isn't you idiot". Nor "yes it is,
don't you read books?"
Instead, if you feel you MUST post something on an unwelcome or controversial
topic, post something such as (in this case) "If anyone who knows of an
appropriate forum for debating the validity of the Big Bang Theory, or wants
to discuss it with me, please email me privately."
I'm not saying that we must be 100% equipment-oriented in our posts, but what
amounts to a Jack Kilpatrick vs. Shana Alexander point-counterpoint on quasi-
religious or even OT scientific issues doesn't belong here.
If any of the participants had been troublemakers, I would have already
removed them from the list, but in this case I think it wasn't ill-
intentioned, and the majority of participants are useful contributors to the
list. Just next time, don't take the bait, OK?
Thanks
