While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I'm about to build a permanent pier with a Milburn Wedge mount for my 8"
LX200. Although it won't be outside all the time, I would like to be able
to leave it outside for extended periods of time.

Funds, time and energy don't permit an observatory at the moment although I
do plan to add that later.

Can anyone suggest a good weather proof hood or cover, whether commercially
available or knocked up from materials, say ply. Someone suggested a
dustbin bag but I'd also like something with a bit more rigidity (eg
footballs and frisbies whizzing past when the kids play in the garden) and a
bit of security as well! It would be a bonus if it looked acceptable as
well!

I live in the UK by the way, so UK commercial sources preferred but not
essential!
