Having bought a few bolts in the UK for my LX200 to add attachments, i have found that all the bolts and threads so far have been AF. the rule i use is assume anything made in the states is AF. hope this helps

They are "normal" threads.

You can still pretty much count on all USA-manufactured products to use
SAE standards. There is still a huge installed base of non-metric capable
machine tools. The cost to re-tool the entire manufacturing sector would
still be staggering, even though pretty much all machines being produced
for a number of years are metric-capable. High end mills and lathes are
designed to last for a century or more if well maintained. And they are
just as accurate as the latest CNC marvel (although more costly to operate
in large scale production).
