While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Even on "private property" you frequently are dealing with a utility company
easement with respect to the light. I would check the situation out
carefully before "lasering" the light if you want to avoid any possibility
of trouble. Also, when you say "only on private property", a lot of folks
are going to think this is a "wink, wink" comment.
