While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Awhile back there was a post that indicated Meade has been shipping
LX200 since last Fall with bearings in the Dec axis ratehr than the
nylon sleeves that are the subject of the Dec Upgrade. I got my 12"
LX200 last October. I have planned to do the Dec modification once I am
out of my warrenty period. Is Meade indeed manufacturing LX200's with
needle bearings in the dec axis now? How do I determine whether I have
nylon or needle bearing?
