While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

<< 'm looking for a counterweight bar. The one I currently have is for my 8"
LX50, but won't work on the new 10" LX200. I'm not exactly sure who makes
the one I have, but the bar is 1/4" in diamater, but isn't just round, it
has a small protrusion where the weight clamp grabs onto (a cross-section of
the bar looks like a lollipop).

Anyone know who makes a counterweight system like this? I have plenty of
weight, just no bar!

Frank,

That sounds exactly like the weight bar that I use on the top of my LX200.
If so, it's a regular Meade bar. Don't know if they or suppliers sell the
bar by itself. I bought mine with several weights that came with the bar as a
set. Mine was advertised as an LX200 weight set, but sounds as if all models
use the same type of archatecture in various lengths for various models.
