While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book

Dear mapuggers:
I normaly use my 10" LX200 connected to a laptop running TheSky software from Bisque (I have version 4, level IV). It works wonderfull. Some time ago I discovered that in the object window, if you have the telescope connected, in addition to the "slew to" and "sync" buttons, you have also a "map" button.
Since then I am searching the manual, the on-line help, and experimenting my myself trying to understand what is this.
My obsession is because it would be very nice if this feature kind of characterices the pointing accuracy of your complete set up, then allowing close-to-perfect CCD-center pointing everytime. But unfortunately I did not find this behavior when just experimenting.
So far all information I found is a 2 lines sentence in the help menu: "Map: Send the coordinates of the telescope and the coordinates of the selected object the telescope mapping file for modeling the telescope's pointing." The sentence is clearly promising in the sense I liked, but I did not find info on how to use it at all.
Can anyone help on that? Many thanks!!
Fernando from Madrid
