The MAP button is used with T-Point (also from Software Bisque)
to perform telescope modeling. Great program that tell you
more about you scope and mount than you would ever want to know
and analyzes and improves pointing accuracy greatly. My 10" LX200
according T-point has an RMS pointing of ~180 arc-sec with t-point
and about 60 stars mapped it changes to 50 arc-sec
almost dead center all the time and definitely on the CCD chip each time
