Paul,
I tried a soft case some time ago, but found it didn't offer too much
protection. Since then, I added the scopesaver table and decided not to
remove it, but rather keep it on all the time. With the SS, the tripod
makes a very odd shape package, which makes it even more difficult to find a
suitable bag or box to act as a carry case. I've concluded that a hard case
(even if I made it myself) would be too large and cumbersome to use. I have
finally decided to simply wrap the tripod in a blanket when transporting
it...it works.
