Unsubscribe Troubleshooting Guide.
COMMON PROBLEMS:
1) The following error is returned when the command was placed in the
"Subject" area of the message instead of the "Body".>>>> Subject:
unsubscribe**** Command 'subject:' not recognized.>>>>**** No valid commands
found.**** Commands must be in message BODY, not in HEADER.
2) The following error is returned when the command is not spelled
correctly.>>>> unsusbscribe**** Command 'unsusbscribe' not recognized.
3) The following error is returned when the requested address is not a list
member. Your request must arrive from the SAME mail address that your MAPUG
mail is sent to. In the example below my MAPUG mail is sent to
address jrippey*test.com. In some cases you can change the return
address your
mail is "from". This varies by email and network.>>>> unsubscribe
list 'mapug'.

3a) Most unsubscribe problems are caused by the unsubscribe request
being sent
from an address other than the subscribed address. A typical example is
just
the
ISP forwards email from the old address to the new address. This
affects
lurkers only, because the ability to post disappears at the same time as
the
ability to unsubscribe yourself.
