Hello Mapuggers!

Have any of you folks ever tried prying your Telrad (or other finder)
mounting bracket off of your LX Series OTA and found that the adhesive foam
tape left a sticky, gooey, gunky mess that was almost impossible to remove?
Ever tried using alcohol and found that it did nothing? Ever tried
fingernail polish remover and found that it takes off the shiny blue enamel
also?

I have found that Turtle Wax "Bug & Tar Remover" works like a miracle!
Simply remove as much of the tape as possible and then dab copious amounts of
the liquid onto the affected area. Let it seep in real good and dissolve the
adhesive. Then, use your fingernail to scrape away as much of the residue as
possible (Be careful not to get any on that ole' corrector plate .... might
be a good idea to have the cover on when doing this). Finally, use paper
towels to wipe away the loose gunk that remains.

It might take a few applications to totally get it all off. Not only does
this stuff remove the gunk, but it also leaves the OTA as shiny as a new BMW
fresh off the assembly line!

Enjoy!
